Ladies’ Night
The next Ladies’ Night will be on Monday 9th November starting at 7pm. All ladies welcome!

Next STC meeting
This will take place at Daphne’s house on Friday 27th November starting at 7pm. Please contact a committee member if you have an issue you would like to raise.

Please note that there is now a suggestion box in the clubhouse. It will be emptied just before each committee meeting and any suggestions will then be discussed.

Hospital Cup
Thanks to all STC members for all their help in so many ways to make Hospital Cup Finals’ Day at Stansted such a huge success.
Congratulations to the Stansted winners:
Ruby Hollis and Daphne Lunnon, who won the Ladies’ Doubles, beating The Grove.
Simon Playfair and Ruby Hollis, who won the Mixed Doubles, also beating The Grove.
Bad luck to Chris Hollis for losing out to Joe Lampon from The Grove in the Men’s Singles final.
If you would like to see photos from the day, please click on the smugmug link below. Thanks to Garth Lane for organising this.

Cayless Chilli Adult Doubles Tournament
15 players took part in this annual social doubles tournament.
Congratulations to Chris Hollis and Ross Armorgie who best Fiona Pye and Rick Lim 6-5 in a very tense and competitive final. It was great to welcome Honorary Member, Fran Cayless back to the Club. A delicious chilli meal was enjoyed by all after the tournament.

Future social tournaments
The committee has decided that for future social tournaments, 50% of entry fees, will be donated to a local charity. So, if any member wishes to nominate a local charity which is close to their heart, please let me know and we can add it to our list.

Mix ‘ n ‘ Match Final
Congratulations to Simon Playfair and Lisa King, who were victorious, beating Chris Hollis and Carol Cook 6-2 6-4 in the recent final.
Spaces are filling up quickly for the next Mix ‘n’ Match draw, so please add your name on the clubhouse noticeboard as quickly as possible to avoid disappointment.

Wimbledon Ballot 2016
All STC British Tennis Members have hopefully received an email from the LTA with a link to opt in for next year’s tournament. If not, it may be worth checking your junk mail.
So far, 24 members have opted in. Last year we had over 100 members who opted in, which produced an amazing 19 pairs of tickets for our own ballot. So please opt in if you are already a BTM. If not, visit the LTA website and become a BTM and then opt in.

Accident Book
Please be aware that there is now an Accident Book, which is situated above the First Aid Kit. Please fill in all details, should an accident occur.

Water Supply
The Committee has decided that there is no need at present to turn off the water supply to the Clubhouse. Once the temperature drops, members will receive an email reminding them to turn off the supply after use.

Ladders
Please note that tomorrow is the last date for all junior and adult singles ladder matches to be played.

Ladies’ Doubles Ladder
I have had several members who have expressed an interest in this. Maybe the Club could arrange this over the winter months?
If you are interested, please e-mail me, with your pairing and I shall see how many are interested.

Clower Junior Doubles
Unfortunately, this had to be cancelled due to lack of entrants. We shall try again next spring.

LTA Venue Forum
Last night, Daphne, Jan and Chris attended this workshop in Chelmsford. There were lots of local clubs represented of various sizes and it was very useful and interesting to discuss issues facing tennis clubs.
Please approach us if you would like to hear more details.
