Membership

There are still several members from last year  who have not rejoined the Club. If you do intend to join, please contact Antony Dynamou (Membership Secretary) on 813121.

Club Tournament

The entry sheets are up on the clubhouse noticeboard. Please sign up or contact me should you wish to enter. In doubles events, there are several players who are looking for partners, so let me know if you would like to team up with somebody. Last date for entries is Friday 1st June.

Hospital Cup

All those who have entered this competition, please ensure that you have arranged/played your first round matches.

Farewell to Richard Mott and Eddie Campbell

After over 40 years of belonging to the Club, Richard and Eddie have now moved down to Sidmouth. On April 18th a celebratory meal was held at “The Cock” in Stansted to say goodbye to them and also to Richard Shervington, who retired as President at the AGM.
We wish them all well!.

Water supply and water heater

Now we are into May, there is no need to turn off the water supply when leaving the club.

For future reference, the water heater switch (in the changing room) MUST be turned off before the water supply is turned off. Somebody had not turned the heater switch off this week, but had turned off the water supply, resulting in a broken water heater and no hot water.

President’s Cup

This took place on Sunday 22nd April. 6 ladies and 6 men competed in the round robin stage and then teamed up for the knock-out stage in mixed pairs. Saving 5 match points, the trophy was won by John Nichol and Fiona Pye, who defeated Joe Hollis and Sue Armorgie 6-5 in a nail-biting final.
Thanks to Sarah Hollis for doing the catering and for providing such a delicious ploughman’s lunch.
