Annual General Meeting
This was held on Tuesday 19th February. The meeting was attended by 10 people. The low turnout suggests that members are happy with the way the Club is currently being run. Antony Dynamou stood down as Membership Secretary. Catherine Hodgen was elected as the new Membership Secretary.

Hospital Cup
The Hospital Cup is a friendly inter-club tournament comprising five competitions:

Ladies’ singles
Men’s singles
Ladies’ doubles
Men’s doubles
Mixed doubles

The nine participating clubs are Castle Hill, Clavering, Elsenham, Grove, Henham, Newport, Stansted, Stebbing and Thaxted.
Players from all these clubs enter as individuals/pairs.  There is no selection process and no handicapping.  All five competitions are run on a knockout basis, with matches comprising best of three sets (two short and one long).  Once the draw is published, players arrange matches against the designated opponents to suit player availability.  Each round has a deadline by which the matches must be played.
Please support this year’s tournament with your entry.
All proceeds go to the League of Friends of Saffron Walden Community Hospital, which provides support for the Community Hospital in general and, in particular, Avocet Ward.
If you are unable to enter, there will be a chance to support the raffle, either through donating a raffle prize and/or buying tickets.
The finals will be held on Saturday 21 September at The Grove Tennis Club, Saffron  Walden.
All results will be available online at www.hospitalcup.org.
Closing date for entries: Midday on Friday 19 April 2013.

Litter clear up for Stansted
We have received a letter from Stansted Parish Council asking if our organisation will help in the Village Litter Pick on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April, 10am to 1pm.
“Our wonderful litter picker, Gerard, does a wonderful job of clearing the open spaces and central areas but he cannot cover the whole village.  Please meet outside the Parish Council office at Crafton Green.  Litter picking equipment will be provided.”
Please come along if you are free and would like to help out.

Best wishes,
Chris
