June 2015 enewsletter

Maintenance session
The courts will be closed for play this Friday, 26th June, between 6.30pm and 8pm. Junior night will be from 5pm to 6.30pm and Martyn’s junior coaching will not be affected.
If any members are free to lend a hand on the evening, it would be greatly appreciated.

Adult/Child Tournament
The deadline for next Sunday’s (June 28th) tournament is this Friday. If you would like to play, please email me.

Ladies’ Night
The next Ladies’ Night will be on Monday 13th July, starting at 7pm. All ladies welcome!

Next STC meeting
This will take place at Felicity’s house on Friday 17th July, starting at 7.30pm. Please contact a committee member if you have an issue you would like to raise.

Wilby Adult Doubles Tournament
This will take place on Sunday 9th August, starting at 1.30pm. The tournament will be open for entries from 9th July. Watch this space!

Club Tournament
If you have entered any of this year’s events, please ensure you have arranged and played your matches before the play by date.

Hospital Cup
Thanks to those who have contributed offerings towards our “Best of British” raffle prize. We look forward to receiving further donations.

Bristow Junior Doubles Tournament.
What a fantastic day we all had last Sunday. Thanks to the 14 junior members and their families who supported this event. The trophy was won by Luke Howley and Sam Philp, who beat Jonny Philp and Scott Slater 6-3 in the final. Thanks to Win Bristow for presenting the trophy. It was lovely to see you.

Busy courts
We are aware that there is a lot of pressure on the courts at the moment. There are many club tournament, Hospital Cup, Essex League matches and Ladder matches being arranged. Please be patient as the pressure will ease after Wimbledon.
Once the school summer holidays start, Friday evenings will become available for matches to be arranged. Martyn’s junior session will stop for the holidays and junior night can be used for matches. Juniors, keep an eye on the diary and the evening will remain yours if there are no matches arranged.

A reminder that when the courts are busy outside Club Sessions, the 20 minute or 7 game rule applies. This should ensure a fair rotation for all those playing and waiting. Any problems, please contact a committee member.

Garden issue
There was an unfortunate event this week, whereby the sprinkler belonging to the Parish gardener was broken by juniors playing football in the garden area.
Please could juniors refrain from playing active games in the garden area and respect the beautiful newly planted flowerbeds.

If anyone gets a spare moment, it would be greatly appreciated if you were able to water the hanging baskets snd garden area behind the clubhouse. Thank you!

Friends of the Committee
We are still looking for “Friends of the Committee” volunteers. Please contact me if you would like to be added to the list.

Friday evening junior session
A reminder that all those attending this session need to be aware that there needs to be a fair, inclusive attitude by all attending. Several parents have offered to keep an eye. Thank you!

Cardio Sessions
If any member would like to be added to the waiting list for the next block of sessions with Ollie, please email me.
Classes are either Monday morning or Thursday afternoon.

Ladders
There are lots of Junior and Ladies’ matches being played, but the Men’s ladder has come to bit of a standstill.
Keep on challenging!

King’s Arms Quiz
The date for the next quiz will be Tuesday 30th June at 8pm. It’s always a good evening, so if you would like to be in the team, please email me.
