Stansted in Bloom
The judging for Stansted in Bloom is tomorrow (Monday 22nd July) and thanks to Sarah Hollis the hanging baskets and new flowerbed look fantastic. Let’s hope the judges like our garden.

Summer School Holidays
Now that the school holidays have arrived, please could all parents of junior members ensure that the younger children are supervised at the courts. Don’t forget that if there are several members waiting to play, then the 20 minute rule comes into play. This will enable everyone to have a game!
It has also been noted recently that chewing gum and litter has been left on the courts. Please ensure that all litter is put in the outdoor bin provided or taken home with you.

Plea for a volunteer
The plaques either side of the Clubhouse door are in need of revarnishing. If any member is keen to unscrew them and take them home for treating it would be a great help. Please let me know if you would like to volunteer!

Working Party
The next Working Party will take place next Sunday, 28th of July from 5pm. We would love to see some volunteer helpers as well as the usual few members who work so hard to keep the courts and clubhouse in good condition. If you are free and would like to come along, please let me know. Jobs will include, painting, court cleaning, pebble shifting and lopping.

Club Tournament
A reminder to all players who are still left in this year’s tournament, that the quarter final matches for all events need to be arranged and played by Sunday 11th August.

Hospital Cup
This year, Stansted Tennis Club have decided to donate an “Andy Murray” themed hamper for the tournament raffle prize. So, if everyone could look through their drawers and cupboards and if you find anything Scottish themed, blue and white, shortbread, whiskey, etc., please either give it directly to Daphne or place it in the green box for donations in the Clubhouse changing room. Also, if anybody has any small blue and white flags with which to decorate the hamper, please do get in touch. Thank you!

Next Committee meeting
This will take place on Monday 2nd September at 8pm at Richard Portway’s house.
